What an ice age

Today, humankind has experienced global warming on our planet, but many years ago, there was another problem that left the surface of the planet with a thick layer of ice and snow. Because of declining temperatures, many species have become extinct, primarily due to the disappearance of habitual vegetable foods.

Scientists believe that the ice age existed about 40 million years ago. It was presumably the glaciation of the planet’s surface that created the gap between Antarctica and the Americas, which were formerly united continents.

The causes and consequences of the Ice Age

Before global cooling, Antarctica was a blooming continent. There are those who believe that somewhere beneath thousands of meters, the artefacts of the ancient civilization that was the ancestor of man can be preserved.

Scientists have not yet identified the exact causes of the sharp drop in temperature and the emergence of the ice age. There are only unconfirmed hypotheses.

  • Before cooling, most of the subtropics were on Earth. The high temperature and humidity created an excess of vegetable writing for animals. The dead bodies of dead reptiles, insects, and animals were decomposed in a favourable moist and warm environment, which led to an increase in the concentration of steam and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the development of a park effect. Because of the appearance of an impermeable layer of clouds for the Sun’s rays, the planet’s temperature has dropped dramatically.
  • Another version claims that the solar energy fluctuation occurred for unexplained reasons. In fact, the temperature pattern was irregular. Over the centuries, temperatures have fallen sharply and increased by several decades simultaneously.
  • A mysterious space catastrophe, which resulted in the fall of a giant asteroid or collision with an unknown vanishing moon of the Earth (such as «Second Moon»).

Scientists believe that the most influential result of the ice age is the progressive development of warm-blooded mammals. The cold-blooded inhabitants of the planet had little chance of survival because of the low temperatures that are harmful to them.

The disappearance of giant reptiles has cleared the habitat for warm-blooded mammals, including the ancestors of modern humans.

It is likely that, without global cooling, humankind would not have had the chance to become the master of this planet. The reason for this is that, under favourable conditions, reptiles have more effective coping and reproduction mechanisms.

Alternative Ice Age hypotheses

Scientists know a lot about space, stars and distant planets, but they never learned to analyse the inner workings of planet Earth.

What happens inside the planet is actually an issue that researchers have difficulty solving. Even the most modern instruments only give inaccurate data.

However, the modern scientific world knows that major volcanic eruptions and the movement of tectonic seams are likely to cause irreparable damage to the Earth’s ecosystem.

In particular, the eruption of the volcano Santorini in the Mediterranean Sea actually led to the emergence of a «small» ice age, which for centuries changed the history of human civilization and possibly destroyed the legendary Atlantis. It was an island inhabited by the ancestors of people who had superpowers and amazing technology.

An alternate version claims that the global cooling came because of a nuclear war between rival ancient civilizations that included gods and demigods.
